MFT Magical Dragons/Baby Boy

Hello there!

Welcome back to my blog! Today's card has been inspired by three different challenges, all linked below:

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #380
Color Throwdown #488
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Add Some Texture

First, I will show you my card and then I will share the inspiration images for the first two challenges!

So here is my card:

Here is the color scheme for this week's Color Throwdown challenge and also the sketch for the MFT challenge:

I used the Magical Dragons stamp set from MFT and coloured the images using my Copic markers. I cut out the images leaving a small white border around the edges. I then die cut the largest of the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles and blended some Twisted Citron Distress Ink from the centre outwards, adding some Mowed Lawn Distress Ink from the centre too, just not as far out. I then spritzed the panel with my Tim Holtz Distress Sprayer and dabbed off the excess with a clean paper towel. Once dry, I ran the piece through my Big Shot with the Darice Layered Hearts embossing folder. I then added the panel to a side folding A2 card blank.

I die cut a circle from some white cardstock and blended some Fossilized Amber Distress Ink from the centre outwards. I added the circle to the card with foam pads. I stamped the sentiment, which is from the Lawn Fawn Little Bundle stamp set, onto a strip of white cardstock that I had die cut with a Lawn Fawn Everyday Sentiment Banner die. I adhered it so that the left edge was underneath the circle. I added the dragons to the circle with foam pads. I die cut the smallest of the Lawn Fawn Stitched Heart dies from some white cardstock and coloured it with the same blue Copics I used for the images. I adhered the heart to the card with foam tape.

To finish the card I added some sequins from Lucy's cards.

I found this one really challenging. Think it was the sketch that got me, but I think it turned out okay in the end! I really like this colour scheme and it is perfect for a new baby boy card like this one.

Thanks for stopping by!

CAS(E) This Sketch #266

Hi guys!

Welcome back to my blog!! Great to have you here!! Today's card has been made for the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge #266 and this is the sketch we are following:

And this is my interpretation:

I used the For The Love Of Stamps Cocktail Party stamp set from Hunkydory, along with my trusty Large Stitched Rectangles from Lawn Fawn, the Sugar Chic 12 x 12 paper pad by Heidi Swapp and some sequins from Lucy's Cards.

Such a simple layout but I love how it turned out. The sequins are almost bubbles coming out of the cocktail glasses!

I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers on Hunkydory Ink Me! cardstock for the images along with a waterbrush, and I stamped them with VersaFine Onyx Black ink.

I just love this fun sentiment - just suits this card perfectly!

Until next time..

Color Throwdown 487

Hi guys!

So today I have made a card specifically for the Color Throwdown challenge! It pushes you a bit more creatively I think when you are given a colour scheme to follow as normally I just do whatever! And more often than not the colour schemes are not what you would normally pick .. so I have decided that this is going to be my weekly challenge going forward!

This is the colour scheme for this challenge:

And this is the card I have created:

I have to say when I started off I was like 'What am I going to do?' but then I started to remember things I had in my stash like the perfect paper pad, the mint cardstock etc. And I was so thrilled at the end when I remembered I had mint sequins! Seriously it is quite sad how happy I was!

So I started off by cutting the paper from the Dear Lizzy Fine and Dandy paper pad from American Crafts with the largest of the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles dies and then I cut the next size down from the mint cardstock from my stash and some Ink Me! cardstock.

I then blended some Festive Berries, Worn Lipstick and Spun Sugar Distress Inks into the centre of the piece in an outward circular effect before spritzing with water and removing the excess with a paper towel.

I added the pattered paper background to the front of a top folding A2 size card base and adhered the mint rectangle at an angle. I then added the inked rectangle at the opposite angle with some foam tape.

I stamped the pig from the MFT Hog Heaven stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured him with my Copic markers before cutting him out with some scissors, leaving a white edge. I also added some highlights with a white gel pen. I die cut the Scripty Hugs from Lawn Fawn from some Ink Me and coloured it using the same three Copics I used to colour the heart to create an ombre effect. I then covered the sentiment with VersaMark ink and poured over some UTEE from Wow! and heat set with a heat gun. I repeated for a second layer to make it super glossy.

I adhered the pig behind the 'hugs' die cut and chopped off the bottom of the image so that it looks like he is peering out from behind the letters. I then added the whole thing to the card front with some glue. I stamped the sentiment, also from the MFT Hog Heaven set and added the sequins from Lucy's Cards to finish.

Thanks for stopping by!
