Your Kindness Touched My Heart

Hello!

Happy Easter weekend everyone! Hope you are having some good time to chill out, craft and recharge your batteries!

The card I am sharing today is a combination of MFT and Altenew stamp sets and I had no idea where I was going with this one. I had decided I wanted to use the Bamboo Roses set from Altenew so I started by stamping those out..

I stamped the roses in MFT Black Liquorice Hybrid ink using my MISTI so I could get a perfect impression. I ended up stamping three times to get solid outlines, as I was working on textured watercolour cardstock. I coloured the roses using my Distress Markers and a waterbrush and cut around the edges of the images with some scissors, leaving a small white outline around each one. I then added some white dot accents to the roses and leaves with a white gel pen.

I created the background on some smooth white cardstock, which I spritzed with some water and added some Worn Lipstick, Festive Berries and Aged Mahogany Distress Inks with a waterbrush to create a watercolour background. I dried it off with a heat tool once I was happy with the effect and die cut a piece from it using the largest from the Large Stitched Rectangle dies by Lawn Fawn.

I treated the background piece with an anti-static tool and stamped the kindness sentiment from the MFT Kind Words stamp set in VersaMark, once again using my MISTI. I poured over some Hero Arts gold embossing powder and heat set with a heat gun. I then stamped the other parts of the sentiment using Onyx Black Versafine ink.

I added the background piece to the front of an A2 top folding card blank with some tape and added the roses, the first layer with glue and the second with foam tape to add some dimension.

I then decided that I wanted to add something else to the background, so I used my Tim Holtz Bubbles stencil and inked through it in the spaces on the background panel with some Worn Lipstick Distress Ink. I then added some sequins to finish.

And for the inside...

I stamped another sentiment from the MFT Kind Words stamp set and a couple of the roses from the Altenew Bamboo Roses set in some London Fog Memento Ink.

I hope you like it and that you will pop by again soon!

You Are Amazing!

This is the first post on my new blog and I am very excited to get back into blogging again! My crafting style has changed entirely since I used to blog a couple of years back so I thought it appropriate to start a new blog ..

I enjoyed making this first card I am sharing so much! I have recently been using my alcohol inks again since their reappearance on the craft scene, inspired mainly by Jennifer McGuire! I watched a video where she made some amazing backgrounds so I thought I would crack them open again! I did struggle with them the first time round as I didn't really know what to do with them. Just needed a bit of guidance I guess!

The alcohol ink background was created on Ranger Yupo paper, using several different shades of green and turquoise Ranger Alcohol Inks plus a gold mixative and some blending solution. I cut the circle from the piece and immediately I thought it looked like an arty globe, and I was so inspired to make this card design.

I also used the Lawn Fawn Puffy Cloud Borders and Large Stitched Rectangle dies, along with the Memory Box Puffy Clouds dies.

The background paper is from a DoCrafts Little Meow paper pack that I had in my stash and was perfect for this design. The sunburst paper design was cut with the largest stitched rectangle die, which is A2 size, the same size as my card base.

The large Amazing word die is from Avery Elle, along with the coordinating stamp set. The sentiment was die cut from some gold glitter cardstock and I layered on top of two others cut from white cardstock to add dimension.

The sentiment on the inside is from the Altenew To The Moon stamp set, and goes perfectly with this card!

I was so pleased with the results and that alcohol ink globe couldn't have turned out better!

Thank you for stopping by and hope you will visit again soon!

Happy crafting!
